About the Event
Individuals who have experienced trauma, often experience trauma effects that extend to their autonomic nervous system and find themselves in a constant fear response recognized as fight-or-flight-or-freeze. It's important to acknowledge, process and manage emotions in order to be able to self-regulate. This workshop will help individuals understand emotions, by educating them on how their trauma affects their autonomic nervous system, while integrating the expressive arts.
About the Workshop:
This workshop will focus on the importance of understanding trauma and begin to unfold how it can affect our daily lives especially our body and mind directly. This workshop will focus on becoming more aware of your nervous system, and self-regulation. How traumatic stress energy is "stuck" and stored in the body, and how the mind and the body can work together. We will also be exploring the arts, mindfulness, and breathing exercise that can be used to reduced stress, and help with self-regulation.
This workshop will be facilitated by Brianna Joy in collaboration with Time of Butterflies.
